Apple Fixes iPhone 8 Crackle Issues With iOS 11.0.2

Apple has released another iOS 11 update that mainly addresses a bug that causes a crackling sound during phone calls.

It’s unknown what was causing this issue, but a few iPhone 8 users have been hearing a faint crackling or high-pitched static during calls.

While this is affecting a “small number” of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus users, Apple confirmed last week to Business Insider that it would release an update to fix the issue. As Apple promised, the update is now available to download over the air by going to Settings General Software Update.

In addition, iOS 11.0.2 fixes the issues that cause some photos to become hidden, and where “attachments in S/MIME encrypted emails would not open.”

This is the second update Apple has released since the launch of iOS 11 back on September 19. The company released iOS 11.0.1 a week after iOS 11 to address the issues with emails not being sent via OutLook and Exchange.
